US Navy Vice Admiral William H. McRaven, head of the Joint Special Forces Command (JSOC), has been credited for organizing and executing Operation Neptune's Spear- the mission carried out on Sunday to capture or kill Al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden in Pakistan's Abbottabad city.

According to CBS News, Vice Admiral McRaven gave reports on the mission's status to CIA Director Leon Panetta, who relayed them to President Barack Obama and his top advisers while they waited in the White House Situation Room.
