Mount Fuji Landslide partially buries three vehicles amid heavy rain and strong winds

A landslide partially buried three vehicles at a Mount Fuji car park as torrential rain, strong winds and dense mist hit Japan’s iconic volcano. Two hikers were also rescued after collapsing on the mountain, while officials warned of severe conditions on the final day of the climbing season.

A landslide struck a car park on Japan's Mount Fuji, with the final day of the volcano's summer climbing season on Thursday marred by downpours and dense mist.
Three vehicles belonging to people working on the mountain were partially buried Wednesday, as powerful gusts and torrential rain battered the popular hiking destination, a local official told AFP.
