Mubarak verdict reignites Egypt

Tens of thousands of people converged on Tahrir Square after an Egyptian court sentenced former president Hosni Mubarak to life in prison as an accomplice in the killing of unarmed demonstrators.

It was one of the largest crowds in the square since Mubarak was ousted 16 months ago.u00a0Protestors expressed shock that the judge had acquitted the head of the security forces who had been in charge when demonstrators were killed.
