Pakistan court sentences rights activist Mahrang Baloch to life imprisonment

A Pakistani anti-terrorism court has sentenced rights activist Mahrang Baloch and a fellow activist to life imprisonment over the killing of a paramilitary soldier during a 2024 protest. The verdict has drawn criticism from human rights groups

A Pakistani anti-terrorism court has sentenced rights activist Mahrang Baloch and her associate to life in prison over the killing of a paramilitary soldier during a July 2024 protest.
Baloch, who has been detained since March 2025, has been a vocal about the enforced disappearances and human rights violations in Balochistan.
