Westminster Council said Hard Rock Calling&rsquo;s organisers had taken the decision to cut the sound. &ldquo;Tonight&rsquo;s Hyde Park Concert was finished by organisers. They were sticking to their licence for the event,&rdquo; it said via its Twitter account. Fans were unhappy about the development and vented their anger on the microblogging site. Actor Stephen Merchant tweeted, &ldquo;Ashamed to be British right now. Springsteen and McCartney playing Twist &amp; Shout in Hyde Park and council pulled the plug cos of curfew. WTF.&rdquo; McFly&rsquo;s Dougie Poynter said, &ldquo;The guy that just pulled the plug on Springsteen and McCartney will not be getting laid tonight.&rdquo; &lsquo;England a police state&rsquo; Steven Van Zandt, a guitarist in Bruce Springsteen&rsquo;s E-Street Band, has accused England of becoming &ldquo;police state&rdquo; after The Boss was silenced for breaching a council curfew. He tweeted, &ldquo;One of the great gigs ever in my opinion. But seriously, when did England become a police state?&rdquo; He then added, &ldquo;The cops got nothing more important to do? How about they go catch some criminals instead of f****** with 80,000 people having a good time?&rdquo;
