Thousands take part in climate change protest in Amsterdam

The Hague: Around 6,000 to 7,000 people demanded measures to protect the climate in a demonstration held in Amsterdam on Sunday, a day before the opening of the United Nations climate change conference in Paris.
The participants took part in a peaceful march from the Museumplein square through the city centre and back again. The demonstration was organised by environmental organisations Greenpeace, Milieudefensie and development organisation Oxfam Novib, Xinhua news agency reported.
