The Times Square was evacuated for the third time in 11 days on Wednesday after a suspicious package was reported at the popular tourist site to the police, which later found it was a 'harmless empty bag'.

The busy centre has been re-opened after the police evacuated it following a report of a suspicious package at around 9:00 p m (local time). The package that was found in the garbage has now been declared as 'harmless empty bag' after being checked by a bomb squad, the NYPD said.
