The UK Space Agency and ClearSpace UK are launching a world-first Active Debris Removal mission in 2029. Scheduled to launch from Scotland’s SaxaVord Spaceport, the spacecraft will use advanced robotic technology to capture two defunct satellites and guide them into a lower orbit to burn up safely.

The initiative aims to combat dangerous space junk, protect critical infrastructure, and advance in-orbit servicing technologies for a more sustainable space environment.
