US District Judge Leonie Brinkema temporarily blocked the Trump administration from proceeding with a new $1.776-billion settlement fund called the “Anti-Weaponisation Fund” on Saturday.
The Trump administration had announced this on Monday. The fund was meant to compensate Trump’s allies who believe they have been unjustly investigated and prosecuted, an arrangement that Democrats and government watchdogs derided as “corrupt” and unconstitutional.
