Speaking about his prayers, he said, "Sometimes they're specific: Lord, give me patience as I watch Malia go to her first dance-where there will be boys. Lord, have that skirt get longer as she travels to that dance." Obama, who became the first Afro-American to be the President of the USA has always spoken of the importance of his wife Michelle in his life and here too he reiterated that albeit with an element of humour. He said, "...Like all of us, my faith journey has had its twists and turns. It hasn't always been a straight line. I have thanked God for the joys of parenthood and Michelle's willingness to put up with me." The National Prayer Breakfast is an annual event held in Washington, DC, on the first Thursday of February. The event is actually a series of meetings, luncheons, and dinners. The breakfast, held in the Hilton's International Ballroom, is attended by nearly 3,000 guests, including international invitees from over 100 countries. Hawaii-born Obama has endured speculation that he is a Muslim throughout his entire presidency and in a recent poll one in five Americans said they thought that he followed Islam. Obama siblings Malia Ann born on July 4, 1998, is obama's first daughter. She attends the private Sidwell Friends School in Washington, DC. Sasha (born in 2001) is the youngest child to reside in the White House since John F Kennedy, Jr arrived as an infant in 1961.
