It’s not clear why a plane was allowed to take off as President Donald Trump’s helicopter was approaching Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport on Tuesday in violation of safety procedures put in place after last year’s midair collision near the airport.
Federal agencies said on Thursday they were investigating how a commercial jet took off as Marine One left the White House for Andrews Air Force Base with the president aboard. The White House emphasised that the US President was never in danger.
