William breaks tradition of 'supporter' in favour of 'best man' Prince Harry; Philippa (Pippa) Middleton to don the role of maid of honour for the nuptials Prince William has asked his brother, Prince Harry, to be his best man and Kate Middleton has asked her sister, Philippa, to be her maid of honour, St James's Palace announced yesterday. The news came out via the British Monarchy Facebook page last morning. u00a0 Middleton's choice of selecting Pippa as her maid of honour came as no shock. Prince Harry will be in-charge of organising William's stag party In naming Prince Harry as his 'best man' William broke the usual Royal family tradition of opting to choose a supporter for his big day. As tradition dictates, Prince Harry will now be responsible for organising William's stag party. The Prince of Wales chose his brother Prince Andrew to be his supporter when he married Diana at St Paul's Cathedral in 1981. William and Kate will have four bridesmaids and two page boys on their big day on April 29, in the biggest royal wedding since William's late mother Diana married Prince Charles in 1981. They include the young niece of one of Diana's bridesmaids, as well as the granddaughter of Prince Charles' second wife, Camilla. It was widely predicted that William would pick Harry to be his 'supporter', as the best man is known in royal weddings. Philippa (27), known as Pippa, is a regular on the London social circuit and also works in the family mail-order business Party Pieces. All the bridesmaids and page boys will be dressed to match the bride, said sources.u00a0 Special beer Kiss Me Kate is a special beer being brewed just for the Royal Wedding and will be a "British beer through and through", said its creators from Castle Rock Brewery in Nottingham. Posh, royal designer? Kate Middleton has asked Victoria Beckham to show her a selection of dresses from one of the her new collections. Beckham disclosed that she is to send Prince William's bride-to be some of her designs after learning that she was an admirer. "Apparently, she likes my clothes and has asked to see a selection," Beckham said.
