A special NIA court in Mumbai acquitted all seven accused, including BJP MP Pragya Thakur and Lt Col Purohit, in the 2008 Malegaon blast case citing lack of reliable evidence and investigation loopholes. The blast had killed six and injured over 100 near a mosque.

The threat call was received at the Sessions Court registrar's office during the Diwali holiday and since then an investigation has been launched by the Colaba Police into the matter
