06 February,2025 05:10 PM ISTOn January 26, 2025, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated a new bridge that connects the Worli-Bandra Sea Bridge, as part of the Dharamveer, Swarajyarakshak Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Mumbai Coastal Road Project. The event was held near Bindumadhav Thackeray Chowk at Worli Sea Face in Mumbai and was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Minister Adv. Ashish Shelar, and Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha. The newly opened bridge aims to improve connectivity in the city. Starting from January 27, 2025, the road will be open for traffic daily from 7 am to midnight. This infrastructure development is expected to ease traffic congestion and provide better access to key areas along Mumbai’s coastline.
26 January,2025 01:49 PM ISTConstructed at the cost of Rs.18,000 crores, Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL), also known as Atal Setu was inaugurated today by PM Modi. An infrastructure marvel never seen before in India - now a reality for Mumbaikars. This 21.8-kilometre-long Mumbai Trans Harbour Link bridge would help cover the distance between Mumbai and Navi Mumbai in just 20 minutes which otherwise takes 2 hours. More than 5000 workers and engineers worked every day for the completion of the project since work began in mid-2018. Many of the workers and engineers had to take an hour-long boat ride every day to their work site. MTHL inauguration will take place today in Mumbai by PM Narendra Modi. He also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of multiple development projects worth more than Rs 12,700 crore and flagged off the inaugural run of the EMU train from Uran railway station to Kharkopar, earlier. In his speech, PM Modi in Navi Mumbai said that Atal Setu is the picture of developed India and this is a glimpse of what a developed India is going to be like. The PM Modi in Navi Mumbai also said, “Today's date is massive, not just for Mumbai and Maharashtra, but it also takes us a step closer to our resolution of Viksit Bharat. It's a testament that we deliver on our promises. On 24 December 2016, I laid the foundation for the Atal Setu and vowed that Bharat will change and grow.”
