A political controversy has erupted in West Bengal after TMC leader Jahangir Khan, popularly known as the "Pushpa of Falta," was publicly paraded by police following his arrest in an extortion case. According to reports, Jahangir Khan was marched through Falta multiple times as part of crime scene reconstruction, with viral videos showing him wearing shorts and being escorted by police. The visuals have sparked intense political debate across the state. The Trinamool Congress has strongly condemned the public parade, alleging that it amounts to a violation of Article 21 of the Constitution and breaches fundamental human rights. Senior TMC leader Kalyan Banerjee accused the police of humiliating the accused in public and said the party is considering legal action against those responsible. On the other hand, the BJP has defended the police action. BJP MLA Umesh Rai described the incident as an example of "true Ram Rajya," escalating the political war of words between the two parties.
