A thermal drone search inside Nepal's flood-hit Rasuwagadhi Hydropower Project tunnel has found no sign of the 93 workers feared missing. Nepali Army personnel, engineers and a specialised drone team reached the far end of the tunnel after flooding in the Bhote Koshi River raised fears that workers could be trapped underground. The drone scanned areas that were difficult and dangerous for rescuers to inspect directly, but no survivors were detected. The search team subsequently returned to Dhunche. The workers' whereabouts remain unknown, with authorities unable to establish whether they are trapped underground, escaped to higher ground or were swept away by the floods.

Nepal’s devastating flash flood disaster has taken a massive toll, with the death toll rising to 903 as rescue operations continue across flood-hit areas. Authorities are struggling to preserve and identify recovered bodies, while thousands remain missing following the catastrophic floods. China has stepped up its emergency response, providing $2 million in government assistance, along with additional support from the Chinese Red Cross.
