As <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/sa-vs-aus-odis-south-africa-pacer-lungi-ngidi-ruled-out-of-series-against-australia-due-to-right-hamstring-injury-23650690" rel="nofollow">South Africa</a> gears up to clash against Australia, swashbuckling batsman David Miller is looking forward to delivering performances for the Proteas in the white-ball formats and has also set his eyes on the maiden World Cup title.
He stated that the global showpiece is a long hunt and would be a dream-come-true moment for him.
"[The Cricket World Cup] is obviously a quest, and a dream come true. Every player, every team going to the World Cup, wants to win the World Cup," said Miller, according to the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/international-cricket-council-introduces-new-formats-for-upcoming-odi-and-t20-world-cups-23639952" rel="nofollow">International Cricket Council (ICC)</a>.
Despite not winning a World Cup, he also feels that South Africa has played good cricket in the previous years.
"Things got to work out, you got to align things with your team, where you want to go and how you want to play. So all those things come into play, and we've played really good cricket in the last couple of years. In World Cups, we haven't won a World Cup but we've certainly be knocking on the door," he said.
The <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/odi-world-cup-2027-south-africa-david-miller-speaks-about-the-goal-of-clinching-the-title-23644433" rel="nofollow">ODI World Cup 2027</a> is set to be hosted in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia. This will also mark the return of the tournament to Africa after 24 years.
Earlier, a grand ceremony in Johannesburg unveiled the 12 venues that will host next year's ICC Men's Cricket World Cup, with eight venues in South Africa, three in Zimbabwe and one in Namibia's capital Windhoek selected as tournament locations.
<h2>ODI World Cup 2027: Venues for the mega event's matches</h2>
South Africa will host games at eight venues, including Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg, SuperSport Park in Centurion, Newlands Cricket Ground in Cape Town, Kingsmead Cricket Ground in Durban, St George's Park in Gqeberha, Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein, Boland Park in Paarl and Buffalo Park in KuGompo City (formerly East London), according to the ICC website.
<a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/zimbabwe-captain-sikandar-raza-disappointed-with-pitch-conditions-after-loss-against-india-23641360" rel="nofollow">Zimbabwe</a> will stage matches at Harare Sports Club in Harare, Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo and Fale Mosi-oa-Tunya International Cricket Stadium in Victoria Falls, while Namibia's capital Windhoek will host games at the Namibia Cricket Ground.
