Shubman Gill emerged as the highest run-getter of the series with 754 runs, which is the most by an Indian skipper in a Test series. His tally is also the highest in any India vs England series. Gill also became the first player to hit four centuries in his debut Test series as captain and now holds the record of being the only Asian captain with a double century in a SENA country
2 Tons of runs
India scored a total of 3809 runs — the highest by any team in a series comprising five or fewer matches. In fact, the only time a team has scored more runs in a series was when Australia made 3877 runs in the 1989 Ashes in England, comprising six matches
3 A dozen centuries
India amassed a total of 12 individual centuries in the series (Gill: 4, KL Rahul: 2, Yashasvi Jaiswal: 2, Rishabh Pant: 2, Ravindra Jadeja: 1, Washington Sundar: 1) — the joint-most alongside Australia, Pakistan and South Africa

4 Superman Siraj
Pacer Mohammed Siraj was the highest wicket-taker of the series with 23 wickets, including two match-winning five-wicket hauls, at Edgbaston and the Oval. Siraj also bowled the most number of overs, a whopping 185.3 to be precise

5 Mr Consistent Ravindra Jadeja
The most experienced man in the side, Ravindra Jadeja, a veteran of 85 Tests, scored six 50-plus scores — the most by an Indian in a Test series. Jadeja’s tally of 516 runs is the second most by an away batter in a series played in England batting at No. 6 or lower, behind only West Indies great Garry Sobers
