India batting stalwart Virat Kohli is practising hard in Mumbai as he gears up for the upcoming New Zealand tour, where he will feature in a five-match ODI series, beginning in Auckland on November 4. On Friday afternoon, the former India skipper spent nearly two hours batting in the nets at the Cricket Club of India’s (CCI) Brabourne Stadium.
Kohli, 37, who has scored 15,109 runs in 317 ODIs, looked in good touch on a red-soil pitch as he faced both pacers as well as spinners. He was particularly impressive while driving through the covers even as he looked equally assured whenever he rocked back onto his backfoot for some sturdy defensive shots. The stylish batter also danced down the track, taking on the spinners on a few occasions and with good success too.
