Defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) displayed their famed fighting spirit to end a three-match losing streak and beat Punjab Kings by six wickets in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.

Experienced all-rounder Kieron Pollard (2-8), first sent back key Punjab players, skipper KL Rahul (21) and Chris Gayle (1) in one over. He returned to score an unbeaten 15 off seven balls, and along with Hardik Pandya’s unbeaten 30-ball 40 not out (4x4, 2x6), ensured MI successfully chased Punjab’s 135-6 with six balls to spare. Saurabh Tiwary, who was dropped in the earlier game, top-scored for MI with 45 off 37 balls.
