Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) all-rounder Kyle Jamieson (1-32), who dismissed Delhi Capitals opener Shikhar Dhawan (6) early during his team’s one-run win in Ahmedabad on Tuesday, said the IPL experience would be valuable in the upcoming T20 World Cup.
The Kiwi pacer, who has 45 international wickets under his belt, is expecting to be a part of the World Cup, scheduled to be held in India during October and November.
“Any experience you can have in this part of the world before the World Cup is valuable,” Jamieson said at the post-match virtual press conference on Tuesday night.
He was replying to a query on how the IPL experience will be a key factor in the next T20 World Cup.

In the first three overs against Delhi, Jamieson conceded just 11 runs, but in his fourth and the innings’ 18th over, Shimron Hetmyer (53 not out in 25 balls, 2x4, 4x6) hit him for three sixes and that cost the bowler 21 runs in his last over.
“I am not getting carried away. You still have to earn the right to be selected in the [NZ] T20 World Cup squad. I am trying to soak up as much as I can; trying to learn. The first five-six games have been fresh learnings. You gain bits and pieces each time you play and being exposed to those pressure situations always help you in the long run,” remarked Jamieson.
Put in to bat, RCB posted 171-5 in the allotted 20 overs, thanks mainly to AB de Villiers’ unbeaten 75 in just 42 balls (3x4, 5x6).
However in reply, DC’s Hetmyer’s unbeaten half-century and skipper Rishabh Pant 58 not out brought the side on the verge of victory.
DC needed 14 runs in the last over, but pacer Mohammed Siraj (1-44), who bowled some perfect yorkers earlier, defended the target despite Pant hitting him twice for fours off the last two balls in the game.
