Mumbai Indians bowling coach Shane Bond is hoping pacer Jasprit Bumrah carries his fine form in the recently-concluded ICC World T20 to the ninth edition of the Indian Premier League.

The T20 extravaganza kicks off at the Wankhede Stadium today where Mumbai Indians take on new franchise Rising Pune Supergiants.

Bright spot &ldquo;Bumrah was one of the best bowlers on show with the way he bowled for India in the World T20. And for us, it&rsquo;s great to get him back with the form that he is in and also with the confidence he has.
&ldquo;He has got great skills and adds a great amount to our team,&rdquo; said Bond. &ldquo;He was coming into matches after a serious knee injury last year, so we didn&rsquo;t see the best of him, but his development over the last year is a credit to himself and the hard work he has put in.&rdquo;
Pacer Bond, who troubled Sourav Ganguly&rsquo;s Indian team in the 2002-03 series in New Zealand, spoke about the kind of planning that goes into games today. &ldquo;There is a lot more technology in the game now, particularly in the analytical side of the game. It is about working out where and whom the batsman wants to target at some point of the game and what bowlers you want to bowl to a particular batsman,&rdquo; he said.
Bumrah, who made his international debut in Australia earlier this year, was tipped to do well at the World T20 by Sachin Tendulkar. &ldquo;As far as the &lsquo;game changer&rsquo; is concerned, I feel Jasprit Bumrah can be that man for India in the World T20. He has a deceptive action and may look slow but hits the bat harder than you can think,&rdquo; Tendulkar said in a television show.
Good man to have In 16 T20 internationals, the 22-year-old Bumrah has claimed 19 wickets, four of which came in the World T20.
MI head coach Ricky Ponting too is expecting a top-class performance from Bumrah. &ldquo;He was coming out of an injury in the last season and therefore he wasn&rsquo;t at his best, but to see him where he is now, is a matter of pride,&rdquo; Ponting said on Thursday.
