In the Sheffield Shield match against Tasmania, Queensland skipper Marnus Labuschagne played a glorious knock of 160 runs. Facing 206 balls, the right-hander smashed 19 boundaries and two maximums.
Speaking on his knock, as quoted by Fox Cricket, he said, "I felt good out there. It felt like I was reading the conditions well. I took the game on at certain times".
He also added that he has now shifted his focus to just scoring runs and not getting too involved in the technical aspects.
"I feel like I have really stripped it back and my focus is just scoring runs - it is not really too technical ... just what I need out there to score runs," added the right-hander.
Labuschagne has not forgotten the words that legendary batsman Michael Hussey told him while handing him the Test cap in 2018.
"I will never forget the day Michael Hussey gave me my cap, and he literally said those words. He said, 'The way you deal with pressure will dictate how you will go in this cap.' And there is no truer statement," said the 31-year-old cricketer.
"Right now, this is the perfect example of ... finding your way back, and the pressure that comes with that and trying to work out how you're going to get yourself back into that side," he added.
