Pakistan skipper Mohammad Rizwan has backed his part-time bowlers to deliver much better performances in the third ODI against the West Indies.
In the concluded second ODI match against the 'Green Shirts', the Caribbeans came victorious by five wickets through the DLS method.
While defending a target, Pakistan's Saim Ayub and Salman Ali Agha conceded 33 runs each in four and three overs, respectively.
Speaking about the duo, Rizwan said, "You could say our fifth bowler gave away too many runs (today), but in recent years, Salman Agha and Saim Ayub have both bowled well for us".
Rizwan also backed Saim by saying that it was not his day, but the 23-year-old has delivered performances in the shortest format.
"Saim did not have the best day today, but he performed well in the T20Is. That is just part of the game," said the skipper.
After suffering a loss in the second ODI, the 33-year-old said that the management will finalise the playing XI for the series decider after considering the pitch conditions.
"Honestly, the weather forecast has been completely different from expectations, and it is hard to read. We are keeping our options open and will finalise the XI (for the series decider) after assessing the conditions," he concluded.
West Indies skipper Shai Hope expressed happiness with the win and said that the dressing room talks have always been around forming good partnerships.
"We always speak about partnerships, and we just want to get better in every area, so I am happy with the win today," Hope said.
He also credited the match-winning trio of Roston Chase, Justin Greaves, and Sherfane Rutherford for their crucial contributions in the side's victory.
"It was great to see our guys adapt in the middle overs, and credit has to go to Chase and Greaves for sealing the deal and to Sherfane (Rutherford) too, who gave us impetus," he signed off.
The third and final ODI match between Pakistan and the West Indies is scheduled to be played on August 12. The Brian Lara Cricket Stadium is all set to host the series decider from 7 pm.
