The tournament was organised by Rizvi College of Arts, Science &amp; Commerce under of the auspices of Mumbai University and Mumbai Cricket Association. GNDU beat Mumbai by 45 runs at the Police Gymkhana.
While chasing the 186-run target, Mumbai batswoman Humaira Kazi was trying to make her ground from the non-striker's end to complete a single when a deep mid-wicket fielder threw the ball that accidentally hit Humaira on the left of her head. "There is some swelling and a little bit of pain but the doctor who attended to me, said my injury is not serious but advised me to take a couple of days' rest. I will have to go for a check-up, but it is not that serious," Humaira Kazi told mid-day.
Earlier, put into bat, Amritsar opener Nikita Chouhan scored 41 off 62 balls after which Neelam Bisht scored an unbeaten 79 off just 69 balls with 12 fours and a six. Neelam was involved in a crucial 98-run partnership for the fourth wicket with skipper Parveen Khan (32).
Amritsar ended up scoring 185 for six wickets in 40 overs. Bhakti Tamore (41), Mugdha Joshi (42) Shweta Haranhalli (16) and Manali Dakshini (15 not out) were the only batswomen to get into double figures as Mumbai folded up for 140 in 35.2 overs.
