Mumbai left-arm spin-bowling all-rounder Shams Mulani, 29, has been a consistent performer, with 282 wickets and 2,671 runs from 62 first-class games. Recently named Player of the Series for his performances in the two unofficial Tests between India ‘A’ and Australia ‘A’, Mulani contributed 39 runs and claimed 3-69 in Mumbai’s innings-and-155-run win over Chandigarh in their Ranji Trophy season-opener at the Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday.

Despite missing out on the upcoming India ‘A’ tour to New Zealand, Mulani remains optimistic about his chances of earning a place in the national set-up.
