India batter and Kolkata Knight Riders star Rinku Singh is all set to get engaged to Samajwadi Party Member of Parliament, Priya Saroj, on June 8 in a private ceremony in Lucknow. The engagement has been confirmed by Priya’s father, former MP Toofani Saroj, who shared the details with media on Sunday.
The engagement will be followed by a grand wedding on November 18, scheduled to take place at Hotel Taj in Varanasi. The wedding will be a traditional celebration and is expected to draw high-profile attendees from across cricket, politics, Bollywood, and business circles.
Rinku, 27, has represented India in two ODIs and 33 T20Is over the past couple of years and has emerged as a key player for KKR in the Indian Premier League. Priya, 26, recently won her first Lok Sabha election from the Machhlishahr constituency in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, contesting on a Samajwadi Party ticket.
According to Toofani, the engagement ceremony will be a low-key affair limited to close family, friends, and relatives. He also revealed that the match between the two was arranged with mutual consent following an introductory meeting between both families in Aligarh.
"Rinku and Priya have known each other for some time. They met through Priya's friend's father, who is a cricketer himself. With the blessings of both families, they decided to get married,” he told reporters.
Rinku Singh’s IPL 2025 campaign
Rinku had a modest IPL 2025 campaign. Representing KKR, the southpaw scored 206 runs across the season at an average of 29.42 and a strike rate of 153.73. While his performances had moments of flair, they couldn’t lift KKR out of a disappointing season.
The franchise managed to win only five of their 14 matches, finishing eighth on the points table with 12 points and a negative net run rate of -0.305. Despite flashes of individual brilliance, the team struggled with consistency and failed to make the playoffs.
