In the Men's Hundred match against Welsh Fire, <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/photo/the-hundred-manchester-super-giants-jos-buttler-surpasses-kieron-pollard-to-become-highest-t20-run-scorer-112371/1" rel="nofollow">Manchester Super Giants' Jos Buttler</a> delivered an unbeaten knock of 51 runs in just 20 deliveries, laced with two boundaries and six maximums.
With this, the Super Giants registered a dominant win by nine wickets.
The knock also helped him become the leading run-scorer in T20 cricket. Speaking about achieving the gigantic feat, Buttler feels that <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/sooryavanshi-hails-laxmans-guidance-23641911" rel="nofollow">Team India's swashbuckling batsman Vaibhav Sooryavanshi</a> will surpass him on the list.
"It's really cool, actually, to think you've got the most T20 runs out of anyone. Someone will surpass it one day - and his name's probably [Vaibhav] Sooryavanshi - but it's a proud moment," he said according to Cricinfo.
At just 15, Sooryavanshi enjoyed a remarkable run in T20I cricket, scoring 151 runs in three matches against Zimbabwe to claim his maiden Player of the Series award as India completed a 3-0 clean sweep.
The right-handed batsman surpassed <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/ipl-2026-kieron-pollard-fined-for-using-abusive-language-towards-fourth-umpire-23630596" rel="nofollow">Kieron Pollard</a> to accomplish the milestone. The wicketkeeper-batsman said that he would have loved to script history in front of Pollard.
"We played against MI London last game and it would have been nice to get past Polly while he was there sat in the dugout, but there's some great names on there, some special players, so I'm really proud of that," said Buttler.
