London: England pacer Stuart Broad apologised yesterday for having commented on minimum wage in Britain on social networking site Twitter. Broad recently tweeted: "I've heard if you earn minimum wage in England you're in the top 10% earners in the world. #stay #humble (sic)."
Since October 2014, the British min wage is 6.50 pounds an hour for adults aged 21 and over, and 5.13 pounds for those aged between 18 and 20. But his sarcastic comment about the sensitive issue drew angry comments from Twitterati.
