Former Tamil Nadu coach Sulakshan Kulkarni, who famously stated that TN lost their 2023-24 <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/ranji-trophy-winning-mumbai-support-staff-retained-for-2024-25-season-23349321" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Ranji Trophy</a> semi-final to Mumbai as soon as skipper R Sai Kishore won the toss and batted, will now coach Maharashtra.
Kulkarni, who also played and coached Mumbai, was appointed the Maharashtra senior team&rsquo;s head coach recently.&nbsp;

Maharashtra Cricket Association&rsquo;s (MCA) Cricket Improvement Committee (CIC) chairman Sacheen Mulay told Sunday mid-day on Saturday from Aurangabad that Kulkarni has been appointed for a two-year term which could be extended. He will kick off his stint on June 1. &nbsp;
MCA officials travelled to Chennai 15 days ago to discuss their plans with Maharashtra captain <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/cricket/article/ipl-2024-csk-vs-rr-captain-gaikwads-unbeaten-42-helps-chennai-win-by-5-wickets-23348808" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Ruturaj Gaikwad</a>, who is leading Chennai Super Kings in IPL-17. &ldquo;We identified two-three coaches for the job and then shortlisted Sulakshan as he is a known coach. We discussed Sulakshan&rsquo;s name with our captain Ruturaj and he is very happy with the choice,&rdquo; said Mulay, who is also MCA&rsquo;s Apex Council member. &nbsp;
Kulkarni had guided TN to a Ranji Trophy knockout entry after eight years. They ended up losing to Mumbai by an innings and 70 runs in the semi-final at the MCA-BKC ground in March.
