UP Warriorz made the biggest splash at the Women's Premier League auction on Wednesday, landing Australian captain Sophie Molineux for a whopping Rs 1.1 crore alongside Indian all-rounder Sneh Rana for Rs 30 lakh. Molineux, a left-arm spin bowler, had entered the bidding process with a base price of Rs 50 lakh.
Delhi Capitals secured the services of power-hitter Kiran Navgire for Rs 75 lakh after outbidding two-time champions Mumbai Indians. To address their lack of a specialist wicketkeeper from last season, the Warriorz also signed former Indian keeper-batter Sushma Verma for Rs 30 lakh, while bringing back hard-hitting Australian all-rounder Grace Harris for Rs 30 lakh.
