Former England footballer David Beckham has reportedly landed a cameo in English filmmaker Guy Ritchie's upcoming flick 'Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur,' according to a report on movie website Film Divider. <img title="Former England footballer David Beckham. The report added that the 40-year-old will play the role of a disgruntled knight called 'Blackleg leader' who is unable to pull the sword Excalibur from a stone.
"There's a little bit of a sense that Beckham's character, who fancies himself a big player in this story, gets a little ticked off when this other fellow, this upstart (King Arthur), is the one who can free the sword," the article said.
The Middle Ages epic, to be released next year, will also star Charlie Hunnam as King Arthur, French-Spanish actor Astrid Berges-Frisbey as Guinevere, Eric Bana as Uther Pendragon, Djimon Hounsou as Bedivere and Jude Law as the villain Vortigen.
Film Divider added that football puns have been written into the script for the scene which features Beckham. This is not the first movie that will star the father-of-four.
The Manchester United legend will be seen in another cameo appearance in a movie called 'The Man From U.N.C.L.E.', a remake of the 1960 American TV series being directed by Ritchie and which will be released in August this year.
Ritchie and Beckham have worked together a number of times already, including a commercial for high-street fashion brand H&amp;M in 2013 and Haig Whiskey last year.
