Prisha Patel, 10, a budding football talent scored nine goals as Bombay International School (Babulnath) stormed to a 13-0 win against Rustomjee Cambridge School (Dahisar) in a girls’ U-12 league match of the MSSA inter-school football tournament at Azad Maidan on Thursday. The Dahisar girls tried to put up a fight, but could not stop the skillful Prisha from scoring. Most of Prisha’s goals came off solo efforts. She scored her team’s first four, the sixth and the last four goals while teammates Keya Mehta contributed three goals and Radha Parikh added one.
“We all are very excited about this big win. The entire team played well today and we are looking forward to our next match against Smt RSB Arya Vidya Mandir [Juhu], who are a strong team. We want to win that one,” Prisha, who has been playing football from age of five, told mid-day. Later, VCW Arya Vidya Mandir (BKC) enjoyed an easy 4-0 win against CNM School (Vile Parle). Striker Ananya Bihani notched up a hat-trick while Kiara Kothari added the fourth goal. Meanwhile, in boys’ under-16 Div-IV matches, Swami Vivekanand International School (Gorai) defeated Shree Chandulal Nanavati School 2-0 at the St Francis D’Assisi ground, Borivli. Pratik Jaokar netted the opening goal in the first minute while Eshant Kamble scored the second.
St Blaise HS (Amboli) routed AKI Hussain Allana English School 9-0. Strikers Sumaid Shaikh and Parth Kute, both scored hat-tricks, while Hamza Patel needed two and Vihaan Kotian chipped in with one. Meanwhile, St Rock’s (Marol) outplayed Oxford Public School (Kandivli) 4-0. Rushikesh scored two goals while Rajesh Singh and Umar Shaikh scored one each. Also, Atul Kargutkar scored the only goal of the match as Fatima HS (Vidyavihar) beat DPYA (Dadar) 1-0.
