Rohan Bopanna moved into the second round in the 32-man singles qualifying draw of the Chennai Open 2012 at the SDAT-Nungambakkam Tennis Stadium on Saturday.
The main draw of the 17th edition of India's only and South Asia leading ATP World Tour event will begin on Monday with four qualifying slots to be filled.

Doubles specialist Bopanna defeated compatriot Vijay Sundar Prashanth, who retired with an injury in the second set.u00a0 India's Mohit Mayur Jayaprakash and Prajnesh Gunneswaran also made Rd 2.
