Eighth seed Aryan Goveas entered the $10,000 ITF Kuwait Futures semi-finals by recording the biggest win of his fledgling career yesterday.
The 18-year-old Mumbai boy shocked number 2 seed Evgeny Karlovskiy of Russia, placed 600 places above him on the ATP rankings at 474, 6-4, 7-6(4) in the quarter finals of the singles event.
Goveas, ranked 1076, will now meet number 3 seed Daniel Altmaier of Germany, ranked 476, for a place in the final of the outdoor hard court tournament being held in Meshref, Kuwait. &ldquo;I am looking to stay focused and strong for two more rounds,&rdquo; said Goveas, one of the most promising youngsters in the country.
