The Paralympic Committee of India (PCI) announced on Thursday that an Indian athlete competing in the ongoing Asian Para Games in Japan has been sent home following allegations of misconduct. The governing body confirmed that the individual faces "stringent" disciplinary measures, which may include a permanent ban from sports, once the mega-event finishes at the end of this week.

While withholding the athlete's identity and specific details regarding the incident, the PCI stressed that its main priority remains backing the rest of the national squad as they maintain an impressive campaign in Japan.
