An inspiring performance under the bar from KC College custodian Ayush Pereira (16) saw him effect two saves in the tie-breaker after the keenly contested final ended 0-0 at regulation time. Shawn Fernandes, Prathamesh Jadhav and Hussain Vahanvaty were on target for KC College in the shoot-out, while Arshad Mukadam, Vivan Malkani and Amaan Jaikishan missed for the Fort school. KC College coach Zhoyeb Shaikh said, &ldquo;It was a close match, as both teams were at the same level. Every player played his part to perfection. I am content today. I am glad we defended the title. Now we hope to continue the winning momentum at the DSO zonals to be held next month. &ldquo;Ayush was the man for us today. He kept calm under the bar. The match could have gone either way had he not effected those two brilliant saves,&rdquo; Shaikh said. U-19 final marred by sheets of paper strewn around The Mumbai City DSO U-19 football final held at Naigaon Police Ground yesterday was marred by a few incidents of newspapers and other sheets flying about during the match. The waste-paper had been left behind because of some official programme held at the same ground earlier in the day.u00a0However, one of the coaches made light of the issue. &ldquo;As the DSO-conducted tournaments help the kids in getting government certificates, we cannot mind such small issues. We know DSO could have easily cleaned the ground before the final. But we shouldn&rsquo;t make it a big issue,&rdquo; he said.
