Mumbai: Girls U-13 national champion and current India No 1, Simran Singh reached the quarter-finals of both the U-13 and U-15 age groups at the Standard Chartered Bank-sponsored State Open badminton tourney at the North Indian Association yesterday.

Simran beat Apurva Patil in the U-13, and Alka Karayil in U-15.
