Chandra Prakash guides Anjuman to a win

Chandra Prakash's half century helped Anjuman-Islam (CST) register a seven-run win over Al-Barkaat (Kurla) in the Poinsur Gymkhana inter-school cricket tournament at Kandivali yesterday. The win helped them enter the semi-final of the tournament.

Chandra’s 52 included two sixes and three fours. u00a0He was well supported by Parvez Khan who made 32. The CST team made 142 for nine off the stipulated 30 overs. Later, Anjuman’s Chandra and Hashir Dafedar took two wickets each to reduce Al-Barkaat to 135 for nine.

In another quarterfinal tie, Rizvi Springfield (Bandra), registered a six-wicket win over Hansraj Morarjee (Andheri). Electing to bat, the Andheri team were bowled out for 130 in 29.1 overs. An unbeaten knock of 41 by Rizvi’s Azim Shaikh saw the Bandra team reach the target in 21.5 overs. u00a0
