And moments after the finals, both of India's coaches called for more and more teams to play the game invented by India and dominated by its men's team across the last six Asian Games while women's Kabaddi was introduced at the Guangzhou Games.

India's men's coach Balwan Sing said: "The Chinese people like the game very much and have supported us a lot. I want the Chinese youth to be happy and healthy and Kabaddi can make you happy and healthy."

India women's coach Sunil Dabas too called for a Chinese team in the next Asian Games. "China can grasp the game and improve if they take interest. The Chinese Taipei have a team and they were very good, so there is no reason why China can't field a team. The game only requires a T-shirt and shoes," said Dabas.
