City lad wins U-7 State chess title

Mumbai: City lad Dev Shah of Dhirubhai Ambani School (Bandra) won the Bombay Chess Association-organised Maharashtra U-7 State chess championship with an all win record of nine points out of a possible nine games at the Dharavi Sports Complex recently. Over 134 players from various parts of Maharashtra took part in the state championship.

Sahil Khose and Shlok Chandrani stood second and third with a score of 8 and 7 respectively. Dev, India's youngest rated player with an ELO of 1425, will now represent Maharashtra at the national U-7 championships to be held later in west Bengal later this year.
