Maharashtra men slumped to their second consecutive defeat, losing to National champions Indian Railways in the league phase of the Savio Cup All-India basketball tournament at Don Bosco, Matunga here yesterday.

After a slow start against the rampaging railwaymen, the Maharashtra hoopsters rallied and got their act together to put on an attractive display, but their early lethargy proved costly and they ended losing 70-94.

Maharashtra had previously lost their opener to IOB 54-78. Whileu00a0 Prakash Mishra (24 pts) was top scorer of the match, Raj Kalbhor (15pts) top scored for Maharashtra.
