Kesarsing Thapa cracked a fluent, unbeaten 222 to help defending champions Al-Barkaat MMI (Kurla) reach a total of 467-7 against Parle Tilak Vidyalaya (Vile Parle) on Day Two of the Mumbai Schools Sports Association Giles Shield Elite Division match at Azad Maidan yesterday.
His 311-ball knock was laced with 28 boundaries. Ankush Ritik supported him well with an unbeaten 69.

Thirteen-year-old Kesarsing said that the knock is the ideal confidence-booster ahead of his stint with the Mumbai under-14 team for which he keeps wickets too. The Al-Barkaat skipper rated yesterday&rsquo;s performance as one of his best so far.
&ldquo;Today&rsquo;s knock is very special to me for two reasons. Firstly, this is my maiden double ton in Giles Shield. Secondly, my innings has ensured a semi-final berth for my team (In the first innings, Parle Tilak were bowled out for 91).
I just played my natural game without thinking about a 100 or 200. I played without any pressure,&rdquo; said the Class VIII student, who wants to grow up to be like his idol &mdash; India skipper MS Dhoni.
