McLaren’s Lando Norris clinched pole position for the Monaco Grand Prix, edging out Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc for the top grid spot.
Norris’s blistering lap time of 1 minute and 9.954 seconds also proved to be a lap record at the iconic venue. Norris’ McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri finished qualifying as the third quickest driver.

Both the Prancing Horses looked especially quick in the French principality with home favourite Leclerc setting the fastest times across all three practice sessions.
Mercedes, meanwhile, had a day to forget as neither George Russell nor Kimi Antonelli made it into Q3 with the former losing power in Q2 while the latter crashed into the barriers at the end of Q1.
