Shoplifting skipper
Former England skipper Bobby Moore was accused of stealing a bracelet from a jewellery shop in Bogota, Columbia just before the 1970 World Cup in Mexico. He was detained under guard at the home of a Colombian football official and later released. A Colombian court exonerated Moore a few months later and ordered investigation into the ethics of the prosecutor.
