Double Olympic medallist Manu Bhaker ended fifth in the individual competition as India finished without a medal in the women’s 10m air pistol event, narrowly missing out on team bronze here on Wednesday. Bhaker ended fifth with a score of 181.1 after having qualified third for the final with a total of 579.
The 24-year-old will next compete in the 25m pistol event where she is the defending champion. Bhaker entered the final after a “difficult” preparation period in Japan and felt she performed considerably better than she had in training. “I genuinely tried my best and really feel that my performance was significantly better than what I have been facing, the challenges I’ve been facing in my training in Japan,” she said.
