Emma Raducanu and Coco Gauff
Though British tennis star Emma Raducanu, 18, is a US Open champion, her younger American competitor, Coco Gauff, 17, has some advice for her.
Gauff wants Raducanu, the youngest female Grand Slam champion since Russia’s Maria Sharapova, aged 17 then, won Wimbledon in 2004, to not focus much on social media. “The best thing I could [say], and I’m sure she’s probably heard it, is to set time aside from the phone,” Gauff was quoted as saying by WTA.com.
“Because it is exciting when you get all the retweets, all the follows and all of that, but it can be a bit overwhelming. At least in my experience. That’s probably what I wish I would’ve known, not to focus on social media.”
