Nikhil Chari got off to a good start in the men’s 45+ singles, outplaying Pankaj Sampat 30-13 in a round-of-16 match of the 28th GD Birla Memorial Masters inter-club badminton tourney at Bombay Gymkhana on Thursday.
In another match, Justin Joseph got the better of Sanju Jain 30-29, while Dilip Matta beat Nimish Shah 30-27. The pair of Faisal Siddique and Rajana beat Nischaay Narinder and Vishwas Attawar 30-4 in a men’s combination doubles 80+ encounter.
