As many as 19 GMs, 11 IMs and four WIMs, from 19 countries, will feature in the Rs 40 lakh prize money Aurionpro International Grandmaster chess tournament, organised by Indian Chess School at the World Trade Centre (June 16 to 24).
The International Open Grandmasters event will offer prize money of Rs 25 lakh while an U-13 event will carry R15 lakh prize money, regarded as the highest prize money event in the world for juniors. Young chess players from India and abroad will compete in four categories, U-7, U-9, U-11, and U-13 with National champions receiving free entry and accommodation.
