India&rsquo;s track and field athletes will begin their <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/other-sports/article/commonwealth-games-2026-rishikanta-singhs-family-celebrates-historic-silver-medal-23641799" rel="nofollow">Commonwealth Games 2026</a> campaign from Monday, July 27 at the Scotstoun Stadium in Glasgow, Scotland.
India has fielded a competitive 32-player squad, which includes 22 men and 10 women.
The Indian contingent will be led by <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/other-sports/article/neeraj-chopra-focuses-on-gold-medal-and-adaptability-over-90m-target-at-glasgow-2026-23641692" rel="nofollow">Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra</a>, who will be aiming to win the javelin gold medal.

Murali Sreeshankar: Murali will lead the country's strong ambition in horizontal jumps.
Gulveer Singh: The Uttar Pradesh-born athlete will be one among the top players to watch out for in the middle and long-distance events.
Neeraj Chopra: The Indian <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/sports/other-sports/article/fans-love-india-javelin-throw-star-neeraj-chopra-new-look-23635846" rel="nofollow">javelin throw</a> superstar will enter the mega event with an aim to replicate his performance from the Gold Coast 2018.
Tajinderpal Singh Toor: The Indian shot putter will look for a commanding podium finish in Scotland.
