Pune: The continuous drizzle, which started early morning on Friday and continued unabated until late night, was welcome news for the residents of the Peshwa city; however, the same showers have put a question mark over the Saturday race card as some vital parts of the racecourse real estate is under water. However, the authorities are hopeful if a credible source from the race club is to be believed, who told mid-day on the condition of anonymity, "If we have even a three-hour window of clear weather on Saturday morning, our monsoon track will ensure racing will go on smoothly."
The Tattersalls Million, slated as the feature event of the nine-race card, has ten 3y olds in the fray, but in all probability, it may turn out as a duel between Sunderji-trained Itscaro and Karanjawalla-trained Benezeer, both impressive winners in their last starts on this track. I expect Itscaro to emerge victorious.
